Hobbs Marlow Obituary

MARLOW , Hobbs Bernard
Oct. 19, 1933- April 29, 2007
Adoring Husband,
Devoted Father
and Dedicated Grandfather
We express a great deal of sorrow in losing the inspiration of our family. Revered as a private man, Hobbs maintained his dignity as he fought stoically against Lymphoma the last nine years with his wife, Sharon by his side loving and caring for him.
Graduating USC in 1956, Hobbs moved on to build a well respected reputation in the business of land development, which inspired him for over 50 years. During his career, he developed various projects in and around Southern California.
Hobbs was an honorable man. His friends admired his honesty, his integrity and his loyalty. Physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle were important to Hobbs. Being an avid sportsman throughout his life, he enjoyed surfing with his buddies, a leisurely day of golf, and ski trips with his family to Sun Valley, Idaho. He did know how to live! Some of his greatest joys came from eating good food, walking his dogs and reading the paper.
One of the few great gentlemen, Hobbs now guards the lives of his wife Sharon, and his children Suzanne, Michael (Natasha) and Leslie (Todd). He is also watching over six grandchildren; Oliver and Ben Fries, Luke and Emma Marlow and Sam and Charlie Maschmedt. You will forever be loved and missed.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Montecito, CA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Hobbs Marlow may be sent to: M.D. Anderson Cancer Center P.O. Box 4486 Houston, TX 77210 (800) 525-5841.
