Irving Kagan Obituary

Irving "Irv" Kagan, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 12th 2015. To those who knew him, he was larger than life. Irv was a character in the true sense; he knew how to make people laugh and feel loved. This was one of his many gifts. As a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and Uncle, Irv was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe Kagan. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his children Marsha, Gerald and Deborah; son in laws Laurie Furst and Steve Katz; grandchildren Samantha, Mariel, J.R., Carly, Samuel, Zachary, Emma, Eric, Andrew and Heather; great grandchildren Ella and Jackson; and countless others whom he touched on his journey. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30am, Home of Peace, 6200 Stockton Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Temple B'nai Israel (3600 Riverside Blvd, Sacramento 95818) or Einstein Senior Center (1935 Wright Street, Sacramento 95825)

One of the very sweetest, gentle men I have ever known. A genuine, intelligent person with great wit and wisdom. It is less of a world without him.

Just wanted to send you note to say how sorry I am for your dad's passing. He was always a good friend to my dad, Ray, who loved to visit him at the store. Irv would always remember me when we ran into each other at Raleys. It was a treat to see his smile. Again so sorry for your loss. Julie Irwin-DiLoreto
