Ivan died at 72 years young at his home in Calabasas surrounded by his family. Ivan leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Carol, whom he married on 12/20/59. Ivan was hired at Grumman in Bethpage, NY in 1962 - 1975 and worked on the Apollo X mission as one of the designers on the Lunar Module. His aerospace career continued while working at TRW in Redondo Beach. He will be missed and forever cherished by his amazing mother, Kate Tobias, of Ventura. He is also survived by daughter Andrea Jones and her husband, Ernest Jones, of Bellmore, NY as well as daughter Debra Tobias of Oak Park, CA. He was a proud, loving and energetic grandpa to Ethan and Ross Jones and David Tobias who loved him more than words can express. His sister, Llana Sherman, tragically passed before him. He was a gentleman who dedicated his life to his family and his adoring wife, Carol. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Groman Eden Mortuary, Mission Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
