Jack Winter Obituary

Winter, Jack (71) Founder of Daystar Ministries, International Bible Teacher Jack Winter died peacefully at his home in Pasadena on August 17th following a 100-day battle with cancer. In 1964 he founded Daystar Ministries, that grew to incorporate a staff of 700 people in 14 locations from Minnesota to Texas. As an invited speaker he traveled throughout 40 countries. His book, "The Homecoming", was published in English, Korean, German and Portugese. His message of "The Father's Love" taught that experiencing the unconditional love of God as your Father gives the power to forgive the unforgivable and to be made whole. His hands have blessed and his arms have hugged thousands of people of every race, creed and social class from a U.S. Senator, Iranian diplomat, and Chinese restaurateur, to Scandinavian fishermen, Argentinean farmers, Indonesian refugees, South African rugby players, Egyptian artists, Korean students, at-risk teens and many more around the world. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, colleague and friend, he is survived by his wife of 47 years Dorothy, three children, and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today, Wednesday, August 21st, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Glendale, Church of the Recessional.

Wednesday, August 3, 1972, age 19, I sat in a meeting listening to Jack speak at Zion Harbor Christian family camp in Federal Dam, MN. He preached a convicting message and the room of hundreds of people felt the presence of God. I had tears running down my face. Sunday, the 6th, a couple asked me after lunch as I was sitting in a booth if I had prayed to accept Jesus and I did it then.
Thanks Jack.
