Joan Kelly

August 9, 2025

Dear Margaret Mary Gibney Dixon, a very warm hello from Joan Kelly. Believe it or not I was just thinking about your mother one of my favorite people. She was so generous and kind. She gave me a set of linen napkins which I am still using and tonight was reminded of her because of them. I’m sorry to hear your husband has passed. I remember how over the moon you were about him. I hope your sister Pat is still doing well.

I often think of my mother's friends who were so special to me also. I hope you are well.

All the best, Joan

SANDIE Wife of Mike Charles from "The beach"

January 8, 2025

I never met 'Red Dixon" but heard all the famous "infamous" stories of his antics, growing up in "the beach". My dear Mike, (Michael Charles of Balsam Place) and I were married for 64 years. He was an orthopedic surgeon. We lived the last 37 years of his life in Florida. He would tell the stories of Jim to just about everyone he knew!! What a gymnast he was, doing twists and turns etc etc on the subway straps riding into the city, being just some of them!! He was well loved by all his beach friends, most of whom are with him now in our Heavenly home. I KNOW your pain and sorrow, living with it myself. It never goes away. My Michael left this world on the 28th of May, 2022. I know he is trying to comfort me as your Jim will be watching over all of you. I will pray you are not suffering as much as I am. With love and prayers to all the Dixon family.
(I just, today, read of his passing.)
