James O'Brien Obituary
After a courageous six-month battle with melanoma, James passed way on July 26, 2005, one day before his 34th birthday. His life partner and parents were by his side. James attended the University of Maine for three years before transferring to Cal Arts to study art and animation. He was employed by Film Roman as an animator for "The Simpson's." He and his black lab did volunteer work for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Child Life Services. He is survived by his life partner, Scott Shane; parents John and Carol O'Brien, brothers Chris, Robert, and twin Collin; sister-in-law Susan, nephew and niece Danny and Samantha; grandparents Bob and Edith Barry; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, as he touched so many lives. A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village, CA, 91362. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Child Life Services, 8700 Beverly Blvd., Ste. NT4247, Los Angeles, CA 90048, and Attn.: Sandie Colson, Coordinator. Please note in memory of James O'Brien.

Jamie was the life of the party, who brought joy to everyone who met him. He found humor in every situation, and had a quirky language all his own. He was a wonderful lifelong friend and confidant. I miss him.

HELLO, WE ARE GOOD FRIENDS OF LIZ AND JENNIFER...JAMIE'S COUSINS. WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING JAMIE A COUPLE YRS BACK. HE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO TAKE US TO HIS WORK BECAUSE WE ARE BIG SIMPSON'S FANS. HE DREW US A HOMER THAT WE HAVE FRAMED AND HANGING UP. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM. WE ARE GLAD WE GOT A CHANCE TO MEET JAMIE AND WE ARE SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. MAY HAPPY MEMORIES FILL YOUR DAYS.
