James Allen Radford

October 9, 1934 - May 10, 2023 James Allen Radford, age 88, of Los Angeles, California passed away on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023. He was a graduate of Fairfax High School, class of 1952. James Allen Radford, more commonly known by his middle name, Allen, was born in Oklahoma, and came to Los Angeles with his parents and three brothers when he was two years old. He is survived by his wife Josephine and his step-daughter, his 4 children, his 6 grandchildren, his brother Bo Radford, and a large extended family. Allen was a real estate developer, focusing primarily on building shopping centers, with sharp street smarts and an unrelenting passion for negotiating deals. He had a profound impact on every person and real estate project he touched, predominantly in the greater Los Angeles area. Tough, yet fair, he lived a full life, continuing to work until the very end. Although he was a self-made entrepreneur who had a passion for his work, he always reserved his heart for his family. Allen often extending a helping hand to those that needed it. He was known as a good, kind, and generous man. He enjoyed reading, cooking, politics and appreciating the natural beauty of our wonderful city. Allen will be missed by all who knew him.
