I feel you with me on occasion, today very strongly. After reading Mike Miller's message, I am reminded of your friendship and how close you two were. Those were happy times of sports in the front yard spilling out into the street, and sitting around the kitchen table with friends as close as family.

You are loved and missed.

Pat, you would have been seventy, October 2. In fact, you were so fit and healthy, you really should have been. I remember you, your wit and wisdom, your mixed metaphors, and how you ever so slightly, chilled your favorite Cabernets, just the way I like them.

Pat, if you're watching we who are sequestering, distancing and staying home from work, you know how much fun has gone out of our days. I miss you and wish we could talk real talk... you know, beyond this one sided stuff. When you left, I had a lot to say to you, and you had a lot to say to me. I liked it better when you weren't such a good listener.

Pat
As I reread all these lovely and genuine posts it brings you back to life for me. How everyone who knew you captured the essence of who you are! I wish my sons could have met you to catch a glimpse of that infectious energy and charm. I remember our time at the Barcelona Olympics watching the dream team and the amazing Neil Young concert we went to. You were so fun to spend time with and never afraid to share your vulnerabilities too. The world needs your energy and authenticity more than ever. I cant believe it has been 10 years. I miss you deeply and hope to reunite one day to see that mischievous smile. You are always in my prayers. Xo

Pat, you would have been 64 today. I remember you saying, "When I grow up I'm going to be just like J.P. Morgan!". We were really young then, and I said, "Who's J.P. Morgan?", and you wondered how could I not know! You were a character and so bright. You were also very focused and disciplined from a very young age, full of wit and mischief, too. Of course, you will not be canonized! I am reflecting on your innate strengths, and those acquired through hard work and continuous, focused effort. You were the kind who talked less and did more. We were polar opposites, but that did not keep me from recognizing your strengths, and admiring them. You were the worldly one; I the artistic one, yet still brother and sister, no matter what. I will always miss you. Love.

It's been 5 years since you left us. I have many memories from early childhood , mostly my tying your shoes before you went to First grade, and waiting for you to come home and tell me all that you learned. Also, the haircut you gave me which led to a hospital visit and a scar on my right ear. So glad you went into finance and not hair dressing. I also think of that Coltrane album that vanished from my collection. I'm pretty sure I know where it went. You showed excellent taste when you "lifted" that one and apparently you insisted that others enjoy it with you. Now, when listening to My Favorite Things I believe you're with me listening too. Blessings. Peace. Till we meet again.

I still feel sad how you went so young.I never thought you'd go first! Your life was filled with experience. You always said it wasn't good to talk about what we were going to do;it wastes energy. The results will speak for themselves. Your life was filled with action and results. It is almost four years now. I hope you are in peace. Blessings.

I think this is the same Pat I used to hang out with a Harry's at Hanover Sq. back in the early 80's. In his early days he had a trial with the LA Dodgers, and was by then a T-Bill trader and lived on 5th Ave. So sad and shocked to see the news. When one of the obituaries said "he was the nicest guy" I knew it had to be the same one. He encouraged me at work and was always happy to get a phone call from me. Thank you Pat, rest in peace.

My sweet Pat,
I still think of you everyday and miss you so much. I recently went through some old photos and found a photo of you sitting in the Rockaway house holding Jackie boy in one arm and your new born nephew William in the other. I cried because of how much I miss you but then started to laugh because you were holding my little William like he was a football. That was so you. I now have it on my desk to remember those days and look at your beautiful face everyday even though you are remembered in our home always. I will post the photo as soon as I can for all to enjoy. This was 12 years ago. Your little guy is taller than me now and your 5 yr. old nephew John Patrick will be starting his first year as a Mini Mite Football player next week. Watch over him for me and I hope he plays as good as you were. You would be so proud of my boys. We all miss and love you.

Dear Rocky:
Just felt a strong desire to connect with you in the last couple months, and found out the sad news that you were no longer with us from Jack B. I will never forget the SAE days, will never forget that you were the first guy who grabbed me after I intercepted that pass against USC, (you were also the one who encouraged me to walk-on--that was your way, always wanting everyone to push for their best). I am so sorry that I lost touch with you over the last few years--our times on Wall St. together were some of my fondest memories. I am certain that you are directing a lot of activity in the great trading room in the sky.
Peace, my friend, you will be remembered fondly always

Dear Rocky,

I miss you more than you know. You were my Best Man at my wedding on September 14, 1974, in Los Angeles. John Sinclair and Craig Anderson were there with you at St. Basil's Catholic Church on Wilshire Boulevard. I will never forget our amazing times together, especially our trip to Pacific Beach in San Diego in the summer of 1972 while we worked at the liquor store in Hollywood. I learned so much about life from you. I will forever have a hole in my heart over the loss of your kindness, understanding, and incredible personality.

May God Bless You for ever and ever.

Dear Rocky,

I am so saddened to learn of your passing. We go back 38 years to our UCLA days. We met when I recommended you for a job at Consumer's Liquot store in Hollywood, California. I was a clerk, and you started as a delivery boy. We had so much fun! Wow, that was so long ago. We both graduated UCLA. You went on to USC for your MBA, and I went into the banking business in downtown LA. I recall when you came to visit me there at UCB while you worked at Security Pacific Bank as a junior bond trader. I think that was in 1976. You were my Best Man at my September 1974 wedding. Our group consisted of yourself, Craig Anderson, and John Sinclair. I haven't been successful in finding Craig or John. Perhaps, someone reading this tribute will contact me to direct me to them. Your loss has affected me deeply. I can't believe you're gone. I know that you're now in a better place, and I know we'll see each other again some day. You were a wonderful friend, a great guy. I will always miss you, Rocky.

Most sincerely,

My sweet Pat,

I cannot begin to say how much I miss You. It has been quite a few sad days for me since you left us, But I will never forget all the wonderful times we had in Soho and Montauk. I will never forget the last time I saw you and the words you gave me that literally saved my life from my downward spiral. I thank God for that. You were tough on me but said never give up the fight and I didnt. My favorite memory is all the great music you "forced me" to listen to which now I love. Especially you're fav. song by "John Coltrane" My favorite things" I will think of you everytime I hear it, which now is everyday. And the greatest was no matter how early it was at the Montauk house or who was still sleeping, You Blasted it and that was awesome. I miss you terribly and I am still hurting. I hope you meet with my Dad in heaven as he left us on friday. I will never forget your love and support, or you forever. You will Always be my Brother-In-Law, I Love You Pat.

Always,
Jill
