Jean Martin Obituary
May 8, 1920 - February 20, 2011
Jean Charroin Martin, 90, passed away peacefully in Poway, CA. She grew up in San Diego and graduated from USC where she was a member of PiBetaPhi. She married Dr. Wilbur O. Martin (Smokey) in 1942 and together they raised their three daughters in Encino. Jean was very active in the Episcopal Church and several charitable and service organizations.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved Smokey in 1998. She is survived by daughters Pamela Ruehrdanz of Palm Desert, Gayle (Al) Guglielmo of Poway, Tracy (Jeffrey) Hahn of Manhattan Beach and honorary daughter Janet Goodine of Huntington, IN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in Palm Desert, CA. Memorial donations in her name will be deeply appreciated: Children's Hospital Los Angeles, 4650 Sunset Blvd. #29, Los Angeles, CA 90027.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Jean. I met her many years ago in the Rancho Mirage Republican Womens Federated. The moment I met Jean I knew I liked her! She was an elegant lady, friendly, a tireless worker and always had a smile. She will be deeply missed. I hope it helps to know friends care and share in your sorrow.
