Jeannette Muirhead

September 9, 1930 - November 22, 2022 Jeannette died at home in South Pasadena on November 22, 2022 at 92 years old surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Margaret and Lewis E. Merrill of Beverly Hills. Jeannette grew up in Beverly Hills, attending Beverly Hills public schools and graduating from Marlborough School in Los Angeles. She graduated in 1952 with a BA in English from Pomona College in Claremont. Jeannette was married to Charles R. Muirhead (Chuck) in January, 1953 until his death in October, 1999. Chuck and Jeannette were residents of Pasadena for most of their marriage. In her later years, Jeannette lived in South Pasadena. She was an active real estate agent in Pasadena for many years, and for most of her married life she was a member of the choral group known as The Pipers of the Junior League of Pasadena. From early childhood, Jeannette loved to sing and would spontaneously erupt into song on almost any occasion. She loved to read, with an emphasis on history and biography. Additionally, Jeannette had a great wit and a wonderful sense of humor, which came with a creative funny bone. She showed a sincere and caring interest in everyone she met.
Jeannette is the mother of 4 married children: Catherine Hummel (Tim), Janice Parker (Doug), Sarah Weber (Dick) and Charles Muirhead (Mary Alice). There are 12 grandchildren and spouses: Rebecca Holliday, James Parker, Charles Hummel, Caroline Gutman, Mary Rooney, David Weber, Margaret Strong, John Weber, Robert Weber, Thomas Muirhead, Elizabeth Hegardt and Melissa Muirhead. Jeannette also leaves 13 great-grandchildren: Annabel, Joseph, Emmaline, Rosemary, Peter, Robert, Jameson, Sarah, Conan, Raquel, Charles, William and Benjamin. In addition to family, she leaves behind devoted caregivers. Jeannette is pre-deceased by her brother Barton E. Merrill of San Marino as well as most of her lifelong valued friends.
