Jenna Mathioudakis Obituary

February 6, 1970 - February 16, 2025 Jenna Mathiodakis né Jennifer Ann Mathious passed away on February 16, 2025, after a 25-year bout with brain cancer. She was born in Burbank, and quickly became known for her beautiful singing voice being voted Best Little Singer in 1981 by the Optimist Club of Burbank. She attended John Burroughs High School and was instrumental in developing the show choir and glee club into the phenomena they are today. She went on to attend USC on a full Opera scholarship and graduated with a degree in Musical Performance. She made her operatic debut with the Sacramento Opera singing the roll of Valencienne in The Merry Widow to rave reviews. She then moved to New York and performed with the Bronx Opera Company, getting a mention in the New York Times. She is survived by her mother (Dorothy Mathious), sister (Linda Mathious), and nephew (Isaac Stone). She was a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed.

Her musical gifts were beyond extraordinary, but her greatest gift was the depth of her heart. I wish I could hear her mellifluous voice in front of me one more time. May her memory be eternal.
