Joan Bondra Obituary

Bondra, Joan Colucy (1939-2002) Joni Bondra, 62, died Sunday October 20th, 2002 at her home in Newport Coast, California. After a three-and-a-half year battle with cancer, she passed peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born Joan Carole Colucy on December 31, 1939 in Navarre, Ohio, she was raised in the Massilon-Canton area. She attended Akron University and later, met and married her husband Adam Bondra and moved to Orange County in 1970. The day of her passing marked the 40th year of their Wedding Anniversary. She is survived by her husband Adam, by her mother Hazel Baker Colucy, her brothers Joseph Colucci and James Colucy, her sister Jill Colucci, her daughters Christine Leach, Lorine Cecere, and Karine Bondra, her son Scott Bondra, and three grandchildren, Paulina Leach, Anthony Cecere and Christian Cecere. Joni was cherished by her husband, treasured by her children, and adored by her grandchildren. Her strong spirit and her infinite grace remain a testimony of her love, and an inspiration to those who loved and cared for her. We will forever remember our mother's true love and dedication to our father, her positive spirit that prevailed even throughout her illness, her selfless nature that was revealed by her genuine concern for others, her strong faith in God, her purity of mind, body, and sould, and most of all her endless devotion to her entire family. Joni touched the lives of everyone she met and will be remembered and deeply missed by all. A memorial service will be held at South Shores Church, 32712 Crown Valley Parkway, Monarch Beach, CA (949-496-9331) on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 10:30 AM.
