Joan Kim Obituary

August 28, 1932 - May 8, 2016 In loving memory of Joan Gorman Kim. Born August 28, 1932 Fall River MA. Died May 8, 2016 Newport Beach CA. Survived by children Christopher(Karen), Alixandra, Sharon, granddaughter Kaila, sister Dolores, nephews Michael, John, nieces Mary Jo, Christina, Virginia, Margaret, Kathy. Predeceased by devoted husband Dr. Byong Kim, daughter Kathleen, sisters Gertrude and Virginia, parents John and Virginia. Joan loved the beach, fun weekend getaways, Vin Scully & the Dodgers, steamed clams, a nice glass of wine, and ice cream. She was passionate about helping others and supported many worthy causes during her lifetime. Joan also enjoyed a spirited debate regarding current affairs and had a "wicked good" laugh arising from her native New England sense of humor. Mom and Dad were married in New York City in 1956 and moved to California in 1959. She was a longtime resident of La Habra Heights and was very proud to graduate from California State University Fullerton in 1983. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Heifer International or to your local Women's Shelter.
