I hadn't seen my old neighbor Joe in 15 years so today I looked him up on-line and was saddened to see that he is gone. I had wonderful times for many years with Joe at Paradise Cove and will NEVER forget his sense of humor, kindness and good advice. People like Joe come along just once in a lifetime. Until we meet again, my dear friend!

I had dinner with a friend from CSUN(we graduated 25 years ago) a few nights ago and Joe's name came up. I googled him this morning and am saddened to see that he had passed. Phyllis and Norman, good or bad, I think that every Finance major at CSUN knew your names. I am certain that his energy lives on and am blessed to have a crazy neigbhor from across the street named "Joe" who reminds me the world of your Dad!

Having Professor Joe as a student was a gift, having him as a friend was a blessing. Thank you Phyllis and Norman for sharing your dad with all of his extended children - his students. Joe lived life with a purpose and enjoyed its offerings everyday. From his happiness with being with students to his joy in Paradise Found, we will always love you Joe and will miss you dearly. An unconventional teacher at CSUN that left a lasting impression on all his students. The picture of him in the yellow shirt is how I remember him. He always made us smile.
My deepest condolences to his entire family and all those that has the pleasure of knowing him.

I loved my brother-in-law Joey. We were especially close during the years we both attended UCLA and frequently drove to school together during that time. The memories I cherish most, however, were the Tuesdays we would join the family for dinner at the home of our in-laws Sid and Rose. After dinner of Rose's great brisket we would go for a walk and generally ended up at Barney's Beanery for a beer.
I also have fond memories of the two times he and Barb came to visit Judy and me in New York and they took us out for nights on the town in NYC. One night in particular, we walked the streets of Manhattan with our wives after a bit of drinking and together sang, New York, New York, not well, but loudly.
Although I hadn't seen Joe much in the recent past, I often thought of him and of those great times we had way back then. I'll miss him.
