John Litvack Obituary

May 25, 1945 - March 21, 2015 John Litvack passed away on Saturday March 21, 2015 at the age of 69. He took great pride in his work as a television executive and producer. Working his way up from the bottom of the production ladder, he would eventually go on to supervise mutliple Emmy award-winning and highly rated night-time dramas for NBC, Disney Television and the WB Network. He is credited with mentoring multiple writers, directors and producers who continue their successes in film and television today. Born and raised in Newton, MA, the son of Frank and Evelyn (Bluestein) Litvack, he remained a Bostonian at heart even after living in Los Angeles for 36 years. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and vintage watches, enjoying both pastimes in retirement. He is survived by his two sons, Zachary and his wife Jamie, Cameron and his wife Nicole, their loving mother Murphy, his brother Jim, and his three grandchildren Zoe, Alexis and Samuel who knew him as "Papa John." A gathering of friends and family to honor his life is planned for April 10th in Los Angeles. A private burial will be held in Sharon, MA.

I shared a lot of laughs with John. Technically, he was my boss back when I was a young Hollywood writer with no immediate family on the west coast. John was a friend and mentor. He will always have a special place in my heart. Please accept my sincere condolences.

John was a brilliant colleague I admired. He had vision and the ability to have other understand and execute. He shared his vision in a way others could understand and follow. He treated his colleagues well and respectfully, even when he disagreed. He was a good man with vision and impeccable character.

Knew John via the watch business/hobby. We had many one on one contacts over the years and he was a man of true honor. He will be missed. - Dave Holmes

I'm Stunned , I sit here thinking and praying for you Murphy , Zack , and Cam . Great Memories of time spent with all of you , though few and far between !
Remembering the first time I met John and you Cam , watching my beloved Buffalo Bills get waxed in the Super Bowl , I must of tripped over Johns feet 10 times that day in the Rose Bowl trying to get down the aisle . it lead to John and I becoming good friends as he attended so many of the National Trading cards shows throughout the country ! My heart is heavy .with his passing
