Jorge and Betty Perez Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Perez and Castilla families announce the deaths of Jorge Alberto Perez, his wife Beatriz (Betty) Castilla Perez and their unborn son Alberto Geremias Perez as a result of a tragic car accident on the evening of August 9, 2012.
Jorge was born in Los Angeles, California, to Victor Manuel Perez, Sr. and Victoria Mares Perez, both deceased. Betty was born in Sinaloa, Mexico to Raul Castilla, deceased, and Bertha Corral, a resident of Montebello, California.
Jorge and Betty were married on November 6, 2010 and were expecting their first child. Jorge was the renaissance man of the Perez family, enjoying and excelling at golf, photography, electronics, the restoration of his 1965 Ford Mustang, cooking and woodworking.
Jorge was a jovial, humorous, kind, gentle and selfless man who positively influenced the lives of everyone he met both in Los Angeles and Jalisco, Mexico. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Dodgers, the Lakers, F.C. Atlas of Mexico's Liga MX, Phil Mickelson and Fred Couples, and his brother's alma mater, the California Golden Bears. His final text to his brothers and friends hours before his death was "Dwight Howard is a Laker!" His most endearing attribute was his ever-present doting and adoration of his beautiful wife Betty.
Betty was a gentle, humble, vivacious woman with an amazing zest for life. Betty enjoyed music, singing to karaoke, dancing, hiking Griffith Park, ice skating at LA Live, the beautiful southern California beaches, and like her husband, photography. Betty was a trained cosmetologist who loved MAC and Mary Kay cosmetics and experimenting with different hair colors and styles. Above all, Betty loved being with her husband and joining her very close knit family for frequent gatherings and celebrations. Both Jorge and Betty did a remarkable job chronicling and sharing their happy lives with family and friends through photos and social media, especially Facebook.
Jorge is survived by his brothers Mario, Carlos and Victor, sisters Deanna and Patricia, as well as Susan Valenzuela. Betty is survived by her mother Bertha, her sister Deyaline Castilla Gomez, her brother-in-law Saul and her grandparents Marcelino and Alejandra Corral. They are both survived by hundreds of adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, colleagues and their adorable white Maltese, Benito.

?Jorge and Betty were a perfect example of a perfect couple. They were two amazing, loving, and caring friends that my boyfriend and i were fortunate to have. I know that all three angels are now with God and that they are watching over all of us. Like someone wrote, " This is not a goodbye, but a see you soon". We love you both and we will always cherish those happy memories. May they rest in Peace and may God help both their families get through this hard time. ?
