Joseph Bua Obituary
As a boy, Joe was hilariously rambunctious – part Bart Simpson and part Three Stooges. As a man, Joe became a dedicated husband, son, uncle, brother, and most notably, father. He found immeasurable joy in raising two sons, Joey and Andy, who meant the world to him. He coached their little league teams and became a surrogate parent to many of their friends who often gathered at Joe and Susan's welcoming home.
Despite his many accomplishments, Joe will be remembered most for his big heart, his playful sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his undying loyalty to his beloved LA Kings, LA Lakers, SF Giants, and ultimately, the LA Dodgers.
Joe was preceded in death by his father Bennie Bua and his stepfather John Belton. He is survived by his devoted wife Susan Bua, sons Joseph (Joey) (Elif Mangold) Bua, Jr. and Andrew Bua, grandchildren Logan and Selin Mangold Bua, mother Trudy Belton, sisters Karen (Jerry) West, Nancy Brooks, and Mary Belton, nephews Ryan West, Jonnie West, Dustin Christopherson, and niece Deanna Medrano.
Joe's ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean, as he requested. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pepperdine University's Stauffer Chapel on Saturday, October 14, at 1pm. 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu.

Susan, today 09/24/2024 for no reason Joe popped into my head and I discovered his obituary. So sad. I played softball with Joe on the Euphoria Records team for several years. Many times I would be playing first base and Joe was always playing third base, the `hot corner´. If he fielded a ground ball I´d cringe knowing he loved to fire a strike over to me. He had a great arm to go with his demeanor and love of the game. You have my deepest sympathy and he will always be in my thoughts.

One Sunday morning Joe told me to grab my boogie board and he gave me a pair of his old Churchill fins. We went to County Line where he was the only one on a knee board and I was the only body boarder. For hours we paddled and kicked pass surfers to get huge barrels and drop into huge waves. Joe would howl left left as he zipped passed the surfers and shred thru the seaweed to get tubed. The last 40 years I have dropped into waves and yelled left left thanks to Joe, Tubes n Barrels n Heaven!
