Joyce Grossman, daughter of Faye & Robert Grocoff, widow of Leon Chaiken, cherished wife of Dr. Richard C. Grossman, beloved mother of Richard Aaron Grossman (deceased) (Janet); Suzin Ellen Grossman (deceased); June Raffle (David); and Michael Grossman (Marian); and grandma of Rebecca, Benjamin, Jacquelyn, Mia, Leland, and Max, left us on the evening of December 29, 2012. She passed away as she would have wanted, at a holiday dinner, surrounded by her adoring family. Joyce had many close friendships, some lasting since elementary school. She was the aunt everyone loved, the sister everyone needed and the mother everyone deserved. Joyce could decorate a room just by walking into it. She was a successful interior designer for over 30 years, ahead of her time, honest in business, and creative in her many home and office installations. Always dressed to the nines, she gave all of herself to both her business and personal relationships. Joyce was also an actress at heart, and founded Actors Ten, a community theater group that entertained children and adults in the Los Angeles school system. Her most outstanding role was as an exemplary wife and mother. She was the best friend and soul mate to her husband, Richard, and was strongly devoted to the best interests of her children, always standing by their side, always catching them if they fell. Her mind was quick, sharp, broad, and incisive, and her heart was generous to the nth degree. She will be painfully missed by all of us.
Funeral Services will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, at 11:00 am, on Thursday, January 3, 2013.
