Keith Stark Obituary

April 13, 1954 - October 15, 2020 Keith died peacefully surrounded by family on October 15th, 2020. He is survived by his three children, Samantha, Whitney, and Ethan, his ex-wife Lisa, his sister Jill (Sam), and his cousin Leslie (Christopher). Keith was born in Los Angeles to Lila and Frank Stark and raised in Beverly Hills. He was a rock and roller and car guy who raced cars in the canyons around Malibu throughout his youth. He graduated from Beverly Hills High in 1972, and UCLA with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1976. He married his wife of 33 years in 1981 and had three children whom he supported passionately in all their endeavors. He started in the family business from age 14 and ran it successfully throughout his entire adult life, supporting his family and the families of those who worked for him. Keith is remembered overwhelmingly as kind by family, community members, and business associates. He prioritized taking care of his family, friends, employees, and clients above all else, and always had a joke at the ready. He lived his supercar dreams with a Porsche and McLaren, but he always considered his greatest accomplishment to be his three amazing children. He will be buried at Mount Sinai Memorial Park on October 25th, 2020. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Keith's name to The Valley Club Northridge via venmo (@valley-club) or by check to 8728 Corbin Ave, Northridge, CA 91324.

I just found out about Keith’s passing, many months after it.

Keith and I were the closest of friends in high school and through the late 70s

We lost touch sometime in the 80s and ran into each other again in 2018 over Facebook and then at a BHHS gathering at Roxbury Park, near his childhood home.

We spoke many times over the next few months, but unfortunately we never saw each other again

I have great memories of our fun as kids, his parents and sister and his giant smile

A missed opportunity

I was lucky enough to have met Keith at Glen Zepnick's birthday party many years ago. We were seated at the same table and began to chat about business. He had asked for my card, as he was having some insurance concerns. I received a call the following Friday afternoon and we met in the Temple Judea library on Sunday while the kids were in Hebrew school. Pacific Fixture, Keith's company was a long time client and we eventually began to socialize. Your Dad was a good person, kind, honest and forthright and will be missed.

Today we laid my dear friend Keith to rest. The ceremony was very touching and listening to the family share their thoughts and memories quite moving. His friendship has been a badge of honor for me that I have work for 40-years. I was honored to be asked, along with Carlos Medina, to deliver a eulogy for Keith.
I have attached a URL link to that Eulogy for those caring friends and family unable to attend.

Dearest Samantha
As your Father, I met you at the door of the Valley Club and gave you a hug.
The first Saturday Keith walked up, he kinda reminded me of a sad kid. I gave him that unselfish hug that had been freely given to me, and he melted. I told him everything would be alright, and he sat next to me.
The next Saturday he had a smile on his face, and reached out for another hug, and he got it.
After that he came early, and stood with me at the door greeting, and passing out hugs for a couple of years.
We would talk, got to know a friend One Hour & One Day At A Time.
The week before We heard of Keith's passing, he mentioned the Hugs that he got from me, & his other friends kept him coming back to the Fellowship.
Keith is a gentle soul, he had such warmth for everyone he met.
I'll carry Keith in my heart for as long as my memories last.
He touched so many hearts.
I hope you're going to be Okay Darlin.
We were so lucky to have traveled our journeys together..
Much love Robert Baker

Keith was a beloved member to our Vistage Group for almost 10 years before he retired. We shared a lot of time, stories and hard work and he contributed to everyone's growth as a leader, business person and human being along the way. Here are some of the comments from members when they heard of his early passing:
"He was such a great guy"
"I thought about him all day yesterday and remembered being in Kauai with him for the first retreat and we were on the beach and remember it started to rain so hard and we were all under a little easy up and he was there with Rich and I and he was just so funny and telling us stories."
"So very sad. He took care of his employees to the bitter end of his business often sacrificing his own well being. A true down to earth person I was glad to engage with during our Vistage meetings. He will always be remembered. God speed."
"Unexpected and unfortunate news. Keith was a ray of sunshine constantly at war with a rainy day. I will forever cherish our conversations and how much I learned from him."
"The cup is no longer half full and the flies are no longer buzzing..... God speed!!"
"Keith was unique and a wonderful man.
I will always remember our conversations.
So sad...he deserved to enjoy more."
"He deserved more time enjoying everything!"
"Keith was one of my favorite members. He brought so much entertainment to our meetings and I loved all of his stories about growing up in LA. He was such a kind and generous man and I was so fortunate to get to know him."
He will always be in our hearts and among our best memories. He was a colleague and a friend.
