Larry Bosley Obituary

1931 - July 11, 2016 Goodbye to our family patriarch. Larry Lee Bosley passed away on July 11, at his Sun Valley home. His wife, Sandy; son, Bradford; brothers, Steve and Craig; and other family members were by his side. He was 84. Larry was born in Lincoln, NE, in 1931, graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska with his B.S. and M.D. degrees. Being the patriot he was, he volunteered for the US Army where he was a Captain in the Army Medical Corps while serving in Germany. Once his duties to our country were served, he then came to the West Coast and began a private dermatology practice in the San Francisco area. He also took the time to get his pilot's license, loved to ski, play tennis, and enjoyed traveling the world. Luckily for hundreds of thousands of patients, Beverly Hills, CA, was his next calling. In 1974, he started his own practice focusing on one thing, hair restoration for men and women and created the Bosley Medical Group. From a small office in Beverly Hills, he evolved not only his business, but an entire industry on the strength of his drive for excellence. He did not just create the most experienced and well known hair transplantation practice, he created the largest organized cosmetic surgery group in the world. With that came breakthroughs in hair restoration technology, artistry, and patient results. Our family, friends, and employees will miss his love and generosity, his ability to challenge and inspire, and for those lucky enough to know it, the soft heart inside of him. Thank you for all the Bosley family adventures you gave us and may you now, truly, rest in peace. Arrangements are under the care of Wood River Chapel of Hailey, ID. Friends may visit www.woodriverchapel.com to share a message, photo, or story and to light a candle. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Operation Comfort, 4900 Broadway Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78209; office: 210-826-0500, fax: 210-826-0509, www.operationcomfort.org Operation Comfort is an organization connected to Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX, and supports our wounded veterans both medically and psychologically.

I was a young property manager who leased Dr Bosley his first office in Beverly Hills. He was very kind to me and I consider him one of my mentors. He was a generous man who sponsored my daughter in the "Little Miss" beauty contest. May he Rest In Peace.

Whenever a commercial for Bosley hair growth would come on TV, my Mom would say, "I used to babysit that guy!" I must say, I suspected it was some other Bosley, but she passed in December 2016, at the age of 92, and in going through her things, I found a Valentine's Day card from Larry Bosley, and a newspaper clipping about Cliff. She was born near Lincoln, NE and attended Northeast High. She, too, graduated from UNL, and was a Cornhusker until the end. I guess Larry made an impression. I'm sorry for your family's loss, but a bit "tickled" that Mom was probably right.

He was a pioneer in the hair transplantation field and a great person.

Sincere condolences to the Bosley family. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

May Dr. Bosley rest in peace. Dr. Bosley was very generous during the holidays. I worked for Dr. Bosley from 1988-1992.
