Linus Brown Obituary

Brown, Linus Lindley(84)
Born November 17, 1918; died April 27, 2003, at Pomona Valley Hospital of heart failure. Linus was born in Los Angeles, California, to Olive Lindley Brown and G. Frank Brown. He graduated from Los Angeles High School and studied engineering at USC until his induction into the Navy in 1941. He served as a quartermaster aboard the USS Aldebaran in the South Pacific and missed the Pearl Harbor attack by three days. After the war Linus was employed by the Los Angeles County Engineers in the Survey Department as a chief of party, a career he enjoyed for 37 years. His retirement years were spent traveling with his wife of 56 years, Geraldine, puttering in his workshop, and miniature railroading. His talents were many. In addition to his wife, Linus is survived by his two children-Larry of Claremont, Jerilyn of Whittier, and a sister, Helen of Hawaii. He was our joy as a husband and father, and will be sorely missed. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 at 10:15 am at Riverside National Cemetery. Staging area #2. Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona is in charge of arrangements.
