Lisa Davis Obituary

March 9, 1961 - October 31, 2018 Lisa K. Davis, a dear friend to many, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle against glioblastoma, a brain tumor she named Pruney. Lisa was born in Long Beach, attended schools in Huntington Beach, but returned to Long Beach for college at CSULB. After graduating as a physical therapist in 1984, her magic hands helped many get relief of pain. She worked the last 22 years at Orthopaedic and Spine Care Physical Therapy in Huntington Beach, where she loved supervising the staff, doing manual therapy and listening to patients' stories. Lisa believed work needed to be balanced with play. She enjoyed biking, hiking and lunching. As she would tell everyone, since she lived in the same town where she was born, she especially loved traveling. Her favorite adventures were to Egypt, trekking in Nepal, and hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. She wanted all who knew her to hear her important message, "After I'm gone, remember to keep on traveling!" Lisa is survived by her spouse of 25 years, Linda, her Aunt Janie Bonar, stepbrothers and sisters, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Davis and Sharon Peterson. Lisa was loved by all that she touched in her incredible life and will be missed beyond words. A celebration of her life will be held at First Congregational Church in Long Beach on Saturday, November 17 at 10:30 am.
