Louis Frank Bloom

Louis Frank Bloom died on Nov. 25 at the age of 92 in Northridge, California. Raised in Tujunga, Louis attended Verdugo Hills High School and then received a B.A. in music from UCLA. He later served in the army for two years during the U.S. occupation of Austria. After his service Louis remained in Europe, studying at the Academy of Music in Vienna and the University of Munich. For the next several decades he was active as a freelance pianist, composer and arranger for theater, television, film and cabaret. Some of the highlights of his career were working on the films Cabaret and Willie Wonka, composing, arranging and conducting for BMW's automobile music promotions, and accompanying singer Hanne Wieder on her tours of Europe and Israel. Louis is survived by his sister, Barbara Bloom-Rowland-Lubick, and his niece and nephews.
