Marilyn Matlin Obituary

September 9, 1929 - May 17, 2013
Marilyn Lorraine Matlin died peacefully in the presence of family members on May 17, 2013 at her home in Los Angeles after a long struggle with cancer. Marilyn was born September 9, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Lewis H. Segal and Rose Berger.
Marilyn worked as Senior Manager of the Helping Hand Gift Shop at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for over 45 years. In this capacity she provided the hospital with great financial support over many years. She thoroughly enjoyed her wonderful dogs, working with friends at Cedars Sinai, cooking, entertaining, and jewelry making.
Marilyn is survived by her two children Craig Gordon and Susan Helmintoller, and her 3 grandchildren Alex Helmintoller, Ellery Gordon, and Lucas Helmintoller.
There will be a private service for immediate family members. Friends and family will be contacted shortly for a celebration of life gathering.
