Mark Bertram Obituary

August 26, 1959 - December 14, 2022 Mark Dale Bertram, age 63, passed away on December 14, 2022. He was born in Canton, OH, the son of Helen Elaine Williams Bertram and the late Dale Rutherford Bertram.
Mark is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Horton Bertram; daughter, Amy Reeder of Essex, England; mother, Helen Bertram; sister, Linda (Warren) Weakley, of Ketchum, ID; brother, Richard (Georgia) Bertram of Malibu, CA; sister-in-law, Jane Bertram; nephew, Brian (Kelli) Bertram; great-nephew, Michael (Katie) Bertram; mother-in-law, Ina Horton and sister-in-law, Louanne Cromer of South Carolina; niece, Madison Bertram; niece, Heidi Buck; niece, Amelia Cromer; nephew, Blake Cromer; great-great-nephew, Owen Bertram, and many more beloved relatives.
Other than his father, Mark is predeceased by a brother, Michael Bertram.
Mark loved life and family and was an accomplished musician playing as a studio musician and with various Los Angeles-based bands throughout the 1980-1990s. He was the Founder of Corporate Technology Developers and most recently the President of Ironware Technology Consulting. Additionally, Mark was an acting board member of InkedIt. Mark embraced technology and was an early adopter, instrumental in bringing technology to the home user by opening one of the first chains of retail computer stores in the Los Angeles area, known as PC Land. Mark proudly served our nation in the U.S. Marine Corps, in the 1st Recon Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA. He loved visiting with friends and spending time with his dogs. Mark will be missed for his music, his laughter, and the way he loved us more than he loved himself.
As per Mark's request, the family held a small private gathering. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are appreciated for the Thiel-Meyer Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC, 29020 or kchumanesociety.org or Feeding America, PO Box 96749, Washington DC, 20090-6749 or feedingamerica.org.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is assisting the family.
