Mark Williams Obituary

1963 - 2021 Mark Louis Williams passed away on September 18, 2021, at his home in Torrance, California. He was 57 years old. Mark was born on October 16, 1963 to Robert E. and Elizabeth A. Williams and lived in California his entire life. His talents were among the many. At an early age, he showed artistic talent and continued to develop his skills as a sketch artist, painter and actor starring in plays and musicals. He was also an avid reader, a gentleman gardener, and was known around his neighborhood for his kindness and generosity.
With a B.A. from UCLA, Mark taught English at Banning High School (LAUSD) for 26 years before he passed, just 3 years before he had planned to retire. Mark had a great sense of humor that he used in his classroom to inspire hundreds of students to continue their education after high school.
He loved fishing, hiking, camping in the Sierras, snorkeling in Hawaii, Disneyland, Star Trek, tv & movie westerns, road-trips to national parks and his close-knit group of friends, which eventually expanded to their children, who will always remember "Uncle Mark."
He leaves behind his partner of 22 years, Duke Brown, daughter Blue (fur-baby), mother Elizabeth (Betty) Williams, sisters Michele Williams Miller and Melissa Williams Baird, brother-in-law Marshall Baird, and niece Laena Morgaine Miller. His father, Robert (Bob), predeceased him in 1977.

Mark, having you as a fellow drama student at Miraleste greatly enriched my high school experience. I know your subsequent career in education allowed generations of students and numerous colleagues the same blessings of your many talents.
