Mary Bernadette Soon

Mary Bernadette Soon, known to the world as "Bernie," was born 12 March 1959 to Richard and Philomena in Vancouver, BC. Bernie grew up in Vancouver and attended UBC before moving to Southern California. LA became Bernie's home, and it was here she achieved her Masters of Arts Counselling Psychology at Pepperdine University specializing in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, touching the lives of many both professionally as a therapist and personally. Following a short illness, Bernie passed away peacefully at her home amongst family, friends and hospice care on January 29, 2023. She is survived by brother Clayton (Lois) and sisters Becky, Donna (Jack), and Veronica. She is also survived by niece's, grandniece's and grandnephew Krystin (Mike), Candice (Misha), Lindsey, Anya, Naomi, Bianca, Luca and Liv. Bernie was a wise and gentle soul with a dry sense of humor and a gift for fun. She created deep, enduring friendships and enriched and enhanced myriad lives in her all-too-short journey.
