Matt was a great cousin, with a big heart and the most beautiful inviting smile, that could get him anything. Fondly missed, with a great sense of humor and a Dad of All Trades. My thoughts and prayers are forever with the family. One day, we will all meet again, in the hereafter. He is now soaring with the beautiful birds, he has always loved and admired.
Love your cousin from Canada,
Jane

I frequently saw Matt at the elementary school where our kids attended. He was always so friendly & had a big, warm smile. We are greatly saddened to see that he is no longer with us.

To the family:
May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you during this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the words found in the last book of the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
May the wonderful memories of your loved one continue to provide a measure of comfort to you--until God's promises are fulfilled. Matthew 5:5; Psalms 37:11, 29

It doesn't make sense for such a freespirited lover of life to no longer be walking among us, but I feel lucky to have known him and spent time with him. Someone said the it's the dash between the date of birth and death that matters. He made the most of the dash! -Devon Hardwick, Palos Verdes, CA

Matt had a unique connection with his uncle Ossie from Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada.
May they both look down upon us all and toast us all to good health and laughter.

Matt will be missed by the Cox family. For us, Matt was a happy, fun, really bright goofball of a friend. He had a happy “sunny,” inquiring disposition that gently invited people to wonder about things and try to figure them out, but in an engaging way that included laughter and joy in the process. Those qualities made him a good partner for an adventure. He was a very good climber and an excellent father. People often wonder whether they’re successful in life - for our family a parent’s legacy is your children and on that score Matt succeeded brilliantly. I will miss a call from him bringing the possibility of an adventure. Our family will miss his playful and kind disposition.

I remember all the laughter and antics that took place at the "zoo" at the Mission Viejo house. Last I'd seen Matt he still had that gravely, crackly voice after a quip would be followed by his signature chortle. May you be at peace now that you are home. Love Missy & the Booker family

Matt will be deeply missed by all of us in the Johnson house. Matt was not only our friend...he was a part of our family. Thoughtful, helpful, goofy, funny, daring, loving and simple. Just a few words that come to mind when we all think of Master Matt. There is nothing he would not do for another. He will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts.
