Doris so sorry to hear about Sandy´s passing. He was a great leader, mentor and friend. I would like to share a story with you. Sometime in the late 80´s I had booked the Alcoa suite in the Essex House. I remember being told that if an executive asked for the suite I would have to take the apartment. Well I think it was late Thursday I got the call saying an executive requested the suite. That was not a huge disappointment because I was still going to the city and staying in the Essex house. On Saturday my wife and I went to the Carnegie Deli for lunch and lo and behold I see you and Sandy there. We chatted a bit. As I recall you were there for a bridge tournament. On Monday I got a call from Sandy asking if I was the Alcoan he bumped. I told him yes and he apologized to me for bumping me out of the suite. I was touched that he would take the time to do that especially since he was entitled to the suite. That really stayed with me and it really framed my opinion of him as a straight forward, get it right humble man. He will be missed!

To Sandy´s Family:
I am so sorry to hear of Sandy´s passing. I had the great pleasure of getting to know Sandy when he became the CEO of metals company, PNA Group, toward the end of his esteemed and successful career. It was an absolute pleasure working with him as he was not only a brilliant executive but was also always warm, considerate, respectful, happy and caring of everyone around him. I will remember him fondly. My heartfelt condolences, Todd Golditch
