Dawn H. Nelson

Dawn H. Nelson, 61, of Derry, NH, passed away Tuesday March 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. She was born on April 5, 1964 in Beverly, MA, a daughter of the late Robert and Marcia (Wallis) Richardson. Dawn was the epitome of the mother hen. She adored children. Her favorite activities were anything the kids asked her to do with them. Dawn was also a huge animal lover, taking in strays, even a stray chicken she named Blossom. She loved Disney and enjoyed taking many trips with her family. Dawn also loved to just go for rides in the car. She also loved working with the Salvation Army in Derry.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Hafford of Derry; two daughters, Shannon Nelson and Kayla Nelson, both of Derry; three grandchildren, Jaelynn Hunkins, Jason Junkins and Emma Junkins; great grandson, Christopher, a great granddaughter on the way, Cassandra Dawn; one brother, Robert J. Richardson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dawn's caregivers, Heidi, Katie, Cassie, Alanna, Johanna, Amy and Skip, for the exceptional care they provided to her.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm in Londonderry Presbyterian Church, 126 Pillsbury Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
