Max Craig Obituary

Craig, Max
Passed away on October 19th after suffering a heart attack while horseback riding on his ranch in Colorado. He was 48 years old. Max was a career foodservice executive and avid horseman. Max and his wife, Diana, moved from Orange County to Littleton, CO last summer to assume the role of chief financial officer for the parent company of Einstein Bros. Bagels. He came to the company from Taco Bell Corp., where he had been CFO. Max began his career at Ford Motor Co. in 1977 before joining PepsiCo Inc. in 1980. He transferred to PepsiCo's Taco Bell division in 1987 and moved up through the company before being named CFO in 1997. He held a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and an MBA in finance from the University of Kansas. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Verna Dean Craig of Sunset, Ariz; his wife, Diana; three grown children, Kimberly Wine of Coto de Caza, Calif., Stephanie of Sacramento, Calif., and Jeffrey of Washington, D.C.; and a grandson, Michael. A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Laguna Niguel Regional Park located at 28241 La Paz Road. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Max's memory can be made to: Colorado Nature Conservancy, 2424 Spruce Street, Boulder, CO 80302.
