Mischelle, we didn't get the chance to get to know each other. We met once at a sad occasion - the funeral of Mitch's mom, my aunt. You left this world so soon. One thing I have come to know is your everlasting and wonderful impact on my coz. Mitch, I know you are going through so much, trying to understand why all of a sudden Mischelle is gone from your side. Try and keep strong by holding on to your loving memories of your wife. Take care. Love and prayers, Geline

To my wife, my love, my soul mate, my best friend, my Baby, and my God send:
I write this letter to say that you have given me the best seven years of my life, but most of all, I thank you for giving me the happiest and most loving three years as your husband and I thank God. Thank you, Baby for having me as the love of your life. Thank you for always showering me with your love, kisses, hugs, and sharing your joy. My Baby – my Mischelle, you will always be in my heart. I will always cherish our love for each other forever and forevermore.
You made me proud to be this in love, proud to be married, proud to have a love story that goes beyond fictional epics of love and romance… we really ARE love, my Angel, my forever beautiful wife.
You are my forever my sweet and loving wife… I will miss you dearly until we meet again in God’s Kingdom.
Loving you always & forever,
Your beloved husband, Mitch

To my beautiful friend, telephone buddy,my niece.I will always remember our long and meaningful talks, about politics, education, family, anything and everything.Mischelle was my heart and will stay there until I'm called to live with the Lord.I will do my best to unsure that her daughter Jade will fulfill her wishes of continuing her education and becoming the woman that Mischelle would be proud of. Mischelle was a class-act,a Lady,a mentor to all African American youths. She stress education and black pride. I'm so proud and honored to have been in her life.I will miss you My Beautiful Niece. Love forever, your Aunt Val.

In 1999 there was an opportunity to go to Ethiopia and since then many magazines, books and photographs have been collected. This trip and a later trip to Madagascar has opened some amazing doors.
One of those doors was the chance to share these things through Black History Month in the same office where Mischelle worked. Several months ago, there was an opportunity to share many of these items with Mischelle and impress upon her what a transforming experience it was to go to Africa.
A few years ago, at an office Christmas Party each unit had to prepare a skit around a theme and our unit randomly selected a "Motown" theme. It was shared with Mischelle that we opened the skit with the theme from "Soul Train" and we snaked through the restaurant making the motions of a steam engine. She enjoyed watching old "Soul Train" episodes and we often discussed the various artists that appeared on the program.
Several months ago, a suggestion was made to her to go up to the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles for a family activity and then walk a couple of blocks down South Fairfax to the Little Ethiopia section of the city and have lunch at an Ethiopian Restaurant. Hopefully, she did.
Best Wishes and prayers, Gary Gustafson
