Myra A. Hubacher

September 11, 1940 - March 9, 2022 Myra passed on 9 March 2022 at 10:30 am, surrounded by her family, of complications following cancer surgery.
Myra Madge Amelia Douglas Butler Hubacher was born in Coldstream, Scotland to Reginald and Madge Butler. She attended LA Sagesse convent school during WW II while her father and mother worked in British intelligence(MI 5 and MI 6). After the war, Myra graduated from The London School of Economics.She spent time in Rhodesia with the Federal Broadcasting arm of the BBC , and arrived in America in time to assist New York University with a complex African conference. She then moved to Los Angeles and worked at 20th Century Fox for the writer Hal Kanter. Myra was a brilliant entrepreneur. She entered the travel field with her husband, Rick, organizing the first air charter program to the UK, for the British community in Los Angeles, ultimately moving 40,000 passengers annually for groups such as The Council of British Societies. Myra's company held the record for the most annual passengers to the UK and became a division of British Airways. Her second company achieved the same record and became a division of Virgin Atlantic.
Utterly stylish,universally unselfish and kind,Myra was loved by all who met her.
Myra was pre-deceased by her son Carl and leaves husband Rick, daughter Kaya(Ward), grandchildren, Colleen (John),Kiana and Alyx, and great-grandchildren Serenity, Killy-Anne, Autumn, Kaylin, and Romulus.
Private events will be held in London and Newcastle, later in the year.
