October 26, 1926 - October 6, 2018 It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Norman P. Rotenberg, M.D. on on October 6, 2018, just 20 days prior to his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his loving, long-time companion and partner, Joycie Fickett, sons Steve and Mark, brothers Jerry and Sam and sister Sandy, two grandchildren and many relatives. Hi slate wife Mary Louise passed away February 15, 2009. Norman was the most gentle, understanding, compassionate, real gentleman you could ever meet and will be sorely missed. In the last nine years of his life, Norman thoroughly enjoyed attending many performances of the LA Opera, the LA Philharmonic, attending the Hollywood Bowl, and visiting wonderful museums and art galleries. He also loved attending charitable galas for charities he supported. Dr. Rotenberg was a renowned orthopaedic surgeon, on the staff of Cedarssinai Hospital for over 60 years and previously served there as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery.He was the Orthopaedic physician for the Raiders football team from 1979 through 1996, and was a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Rotenberg was still seeing patients as a Qualified Medical Examiner as recently as just two weeks prior to his passing. Special thanks and appreciation to Junicar Jalipa, whose family is now part of our family. Funeral services shall be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90038.

The service on October 14th was such a beautiful tribute to the life of Norman Rotenberg, and the life and love he shared with his wife, Mary Lou and his two sons and grandchildren. Was wonderful to hear everyone speak about Norm, and the positive impact that he and Mary Lou had on everyone. So good to see the many friends and family that came to celebrate the life of Norman and Mary Lou Rotenberg! A very moving service.

The service for Dr. Norman Rotenberg was held yesterday October 14th, 2018 with his immeadiate family, close friends, and colleagues who all wish we could've had more time with Dr. Rotenberg the last 9 years of his amazing life. Yesterday's service was beautiful and a special time for all who attended. I question the memorial slated for October 21st, but hey...Norman was such an incredible man...he deserves 100 services.

Thank you to everybody who attended dad's memorial and the celebration of his life afterwards! It was wonderful to see so many of dad's colleagues, his former patients, multiple generations of friends, neighbors, friends from the orchestra, and other people whose lives he had a positive impact on. Our family was deeply moved by all your condolences both at the memorial and over social media.

Special thanks to the staff of Hollywood Forever for creating a safe and respectful space to remember over nine decades of dad's amazing life, and especially to the many friends and relatives who worked together to make dad's memorial and celebration of life so wonderful.

Dad, we miss you for eternity.

Dr. Rotenberg worked with our QME administrative services company for more than 5 years. During that time we found him to be a professional gentleman who had the respect of all in the medical industry. As we grieve the loss of our father we've learned that dad was so wonderful he gets two memorials!

The memorial service on Sunday the 14th is being hosted by Norman's immediate family and includes his wife Mary Lou's family and their friends. The memorial on the 21st is being hosted by Ms. Fickett and her attorney.

Ms. Fickett, I'm sending my condolences to you for the loss of my father. May he rest in peace.
