Patricia Logsdon Obituary

Logsdon, Patricia Jean October 5, 1923 - December 28, 2011 Patricia was predeceased by her parents Rita DeVoe Logsdon and Leo Corwin Logsdon Sr., her sister Jacqueline Gudelman and her brother Leo C. Logsdon Jr., DDS. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Elizabeth Logsdon Woodard and 12 nieces and nephews. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Mt. St.Mary's College and the USC Master's program. She was a high school teacher and counselor at Culver City High School for 40 years. She travelled extensively and loved cruising. Being an avid reader she set a goal, once she retired, to read all of the Pulitzer Prize books, which she accomplished. Although she never married, she was the matriarch of her family to her 12 nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews, who enjoyed spending time with her whenever possible. Patricia touched many lives and made close friendships with many of her students throughout her career. Often she would receive a note or a phone call from a student thanking her for having guided them in their career choices and the successes they achieved because of her influence. There is no doubt, she was loved and will be truly missed. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., Culver City, CA, at 10AM, followed by interment and a luncheon reception at the Courtyard by Marriott on Bristol Court, Culver City. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her name to Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Rd., Camarillo, CA 93012, or Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Assoc., & Hospice, 1996 Eastman Ave., Suite 101, Ventura, CA 93003.
