Phillip Pansky Obituary

Phillip Victor "Papa Phil" Pansky, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband, family man and friend, passed peacefully in his sleep at age 94 on October 1, 2023.
Born in Detroit, transplanted to LA, and known near and far for his sweet and friendly disposition, his jokes, his singing, and his penchant for getting lost, Papa Phil was one in a zillion. He never knew a stranger, and he never missed a chance to crack a joke and find a laugh. Phil was proud of his Jewish heritage and loved nothing more than family gatherings for the holidays. His favorite question was,
"When are we getting together with all the family
"
Phil and Joni founded PIP Printing in South Gate, CA in 1969, now in its 3rd generation of family leadership. Phil and Joni were world travelers who made many friends on their trips. Phil lived a long and happy life.
Phil's beloved wife Joni predeceased him, and he never quite got over it. His loving children, Ellen (Leland), Bruce and devoted daughter-in-law Linda, together with grandchildren Annette (Mark), Kevin(Vanessa), Angela (Travis), Nicole (Matthew) and Valerie (Justin), were the lights of his life, as were his eight great-grandchildren. Phil's dear friend Ruth Kaye was his companion and loved one in his later years.
Papa Phil's extended family of many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his many friends, former Rotary buddies, and the many medical professionals and caregivers who fell in love with him, will miss him for his kindness and humor and because he was always a mensch.

Phil was a bright light to many. I really enjoyed my visits to him when he was living on Fair Oaks. Mom would take me along to meet up with him.
I enjoyed the sing along and Shabbat Services. I enjoyed it because Phil's singing was always the highlight.
Thank you for including me and Mom into his life and into your family. We loved him also.
