Phyllis Friedman Obituary

February 28, 1931 - June 6, 2025 Even at age 94, Phyllis never lost her edge, wit or senses. (She could hear a pin drop from across the street.) She was a Los Angeles native who witnessed the City evolve from a growing town to a world capitol. A child of The Great Depression, Phyllis eventually rose to the top of the corporate ladder, becoming the first female executive at a multi-billion dollar corporation. She was fiercely independent and unapologetically honest. Even when she knew her life was coming to an end, she said she had a full life and she was ready to go. Phyllis never spoke of her own achievements and it was her family that made her most proud. Her parents Norma and Al instilled in her that if your children grow up to love one another, you will be the richest person in the world, and her large loving family is proof of that. Phyllis is survived by: sons Robert (Merry) and Gary (Robin), grandchildren Robert, Mindy (Michael), Rachel, and Jess and she would beam anytime her great-grandchildren Will and Emet were mentioned. Along with her immediate family, there are many, many other relatives who called her "Gramma". Phyllis was admired and respected by everyone whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2:00 p.m. Mount Sinai Memorial Park - Hollywood Hills
