Phyllis Kaufman Obituary

April 23, 1930 - January 29, 2023 Phyllis Claire Kaufman passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Linda at her side. She was thankful to have had the opportunity to say "goodbye" to family and friends. She goes on to join the love of her life, Joe, who preceded in death in 2017. She leaves behind her two sons, Jeffrey (Linda) and Gary (Martha), four grandchildren, Jennifer (Aryeh), Lindsay (Anders), Amanda (Brian) and Casey (Danielle), five great-grandchildren, Ezra, Aaron, Kaia, Isla and Camilo and her brother, Donald (Rhonda)
Phyllis led a life highlighted by travel, teaching yoga, painting and ceramics, riding her horse, sailing to Catalina, loving the ocean and treasuring many long vacations in Yosemite and Maui. Born in Philadelphia, she moved to LA at 16 and later made a home with Joe in N. Hollywood. They went on to live in Encino, Malibu and La Quinta over their long marriage. Phyllis made dear friends wherever she lived and will be greatly missed
She was a strong woman who knew her herself, was never afraid to speak her mind and valued her independence. All who knew her will never forget this dynamic, loving woman.
A graveside service is planned for 1:00 Friday at Mt Sinai (Hollywood Hills), A memorial will be planned at a later date.
