Rebecca Ann Brooks

June 27, 1948 - December 15, 2014 Becky was born in Beaumont, Texas, to her parents, Henry Carlisle & Dorothy Goodin Brooks. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Brooks Neild, niece Catherine 'Scootie' Neild Clark & her husband Joe Clark & daughter Mary Catherine, of Beaumont, Texas; niece Franne Neild Stewart & her husband Bennett of Houston, Texas; and niece Nancy Lee Neild Gupton & her husband Wade & their sons Will & Robert, of Waco.
Becky graduated from Beaumont High and UT, Austin. She graduated in Interior Design, before embarking on a life-time career in theatre, studying acting under master acting teachers, Lee Strasberg & Stella Adler. While in New York, Becky worked for Glamour magazine and House & Garden. Also a model, she did print work & landed the cover of Newsweek. Her career took her to LA & she settled in Hollywood for the last 28 years. As an actress, she was a SAG/AFTRA member & worked in numerous film & commercials. She was a member of Neo Ensemble Theatre and for a time, worked for George Burns.
For the past 20 years, Becky owned her own company, Pear Tree Consulting, selling computer supplies from her home office.
Becky had real passion for life, travel, reading & wrote a book in the final year of her life. Becky loved and kept up with many lifelong friends from childhood. She'll be remembered for her sense of humor, her love for the finer things & sense of adventure. She will be missed by all who called her a friend.
A celebration of her life is Sunday, December 28th, 11:20am at Center for Spiritual Living, Harmony Gold Theatre,7655 W. Sunset Blvd., LA, CA 90046. Street parking. All are welcome to attend the regular Sunday celebration service which begins at 10am.
