Rena Poulos

1917 - 2017

January 31, 1917 - November 7, 2017 Our beloved mother and yiayia passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 100. Rena was blessed with a wonderful life from her birth in Nashville, TN, to the fulfillment of her childhood dream of living in Southern California. She was predeceased by parents Efthimios and Sophia Angelopoulos, brother James Angelos, sister Mary Nina Angelos and her beloved husband George Poulos. Rena is survived by her loving children, son James (Jodelle) Poulos, daughter Elaine (William) Dietsch and her adored grandchildren Sophia, Katherine & Isabella Poulos, and Joseph Dietsch. Rena and George were married on September 15, 1946 in Boston, MA, and by February 1947 Rena's dream of living in warm and sunny Southern California had become a reality. They were destined for the restaurant business starting by working in a small café in North Hollywood to building and operating Pann's Restaurant, which is still the 'family' business. Rena loved people and even in her 90s could be found at Pann's in the afternoon, always fashionably attired, greeting her guests and enjoying their conversation. Our mother and yiayia will be forever loved and remembered for her generosity, warmth, fabulous cooking skills, love of travel and always the 'fashionista'. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Althea, Dorla, Olivia & Becky, for their endless kindness, patience, cheer and professionalism. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rena's memory to The Children's Clinic (www.thechildrensclinic.org), Camp Zoe (www.stsophia.org/donate), or the charity of your choice. Viewing on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm at Inglewood Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov.14, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
