Niles, Richard Denison
August 12, 1933 - July 11, 2011
Richard Denison "Denny" Niles, passed away on July 11, 2011. Born on August 12, 1933 to Wendell, the well-known radio personality, and Ann Niles, he grew up in Toluca Lake. Denny graduated from North Hollywood High in 1952 and from USC in 1956. While in college, he was a champion boxer with the Golden Gloves. After two years in the Army, his career began as a TV and movie actor, but later moved behind the scenes producing the "All-American College Show," the popular college talent show that discovered legendary singing group The Carpenters. Later he worked with his brother Wendell producing the long-running Monte Carlo Sports Festival.
He is greatly missed by his loving wife Lila and his four children, Debra (Robert), Rene (Kim), Eric (Tim) and Richard (Rose) and five grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas, Rene Richard, Chasllis, Lochlan and great grandchild, Maya. He also leaves his brother Wendell (Nelle) and many nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
