Robert Gebauer Obituary

Gebauer, Robert D.
Of Pearblossom, CA, born June 17, 1947, in Long Beach, CA, passed away December 8, 2005, at the age of 58, in Santa Monica, CA. Robert was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carol; his only son, Westley; his father, Louis Tice, of Lakewood; his sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Nolan Burns, of Huntington Beach. Robert dedicated his life to Catholic education. He was a teacher of mathematics and administrator at Bishop Alemany High School for 25 years and the Supervisor of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles until his retirement in 2004. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and adventurer; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and "jeeping". He also enjoyed volunteering his time at the local Catholic High School, Paraclete. Robert will be remembered as a dedicated and passionate educator by the many people he has touched through the years. Rosary on Tuesday, December 13th, 7:00 p.m. at the Alemany High School Chapel in Mission Hills. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 14th, 3:00 p.m. at the Alemany High School Chapel in Mission Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Robert Gebauer Scholarship Endowment Fund at Bishop Alemany High School.

My deepest sympathies to Robert's family and friends. I knew Robert as a teacher at Pius X. He was liked and admired by his students and colleagues. He will be missed.
