Robert Leib Obituary

December 9, 1950 - May 23, 2024 Bob passed away after a valiant 5-year battle with medullary thyroid cancer. He leaves his wife, Felice, daughter Melissa (Brian), sons Ted (Libby) and Andrew, and five beloved grandchildren Brooks, Oliver, Jonathan, Vivian and Penny and many nieces and nephews. Born in Los Angeles, Bob was the first child of Norman and Charlotte Leib and a lifelong role model and best friend to his three younger brothers, Sam, Mitch and Dan.
In his youth, Bob was an extraordinary Southern California hockey player. He played in the 1965 U.S. Western Regional Championship and was the first stick boy hired by the L.A. Kings for what was then an NHL expansion team. He went on to play for the University of Wisconsin Freshman Hockey team in 1968.
Bob was an attorney and CPA. He was a Global Partner with, Arthur Anderson & Co. He focused on professional sports team franchising and stadium financing. Bob consulted on many of the era's biggest league transactions in MLB, the NFL, NHL, and NBA. His experience and intellect were widely respected and sought by team owners in the US and Europe in both soccer and entertainment industries.
Bob was an avid guitar lover and restored vintage guitars in his basement. He also loved golf and made his own clubs. A hole in one and club championship did not elude him, and he was legendary for being habitually late for his tee time.
To those who loved him, it was not his achievements that defined him, it was his gentleness, positive outlook, intellect, and original thought. A voracious reader, he had a beautiful, analytical, and curious mind.
Bob is predeceased by his parents and first wife Barbara Jean Hoesly Leib. Donations can be made to the Hope House at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. Funeral services were held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I just heard of Bob's passing an hour ago and am heartbroken...Bob was a very dear friend in College, I even introduced him to his first wife, Barbara, who was a sorority sister of mine. Back then I would go with Barbara to his mother's Sabbat dinners many Friday nights, where I met Sam and Mitch. It never mattered that I was a Gentile, they all always treated me like one of the family. Time got away as it often does, and we lost touch after Barbara's passing, but it sounds like he had a happy and fulfulled life both at home and at work, which doesn't surprise me as everyone always gravitated to, and loved Bob. May his soul Rest In Peace.

Bob and I were partners at Arthur Andersen and worked on several clients together including many of his pro sports assignments. The people we met and the places we traveled to will live with me forever. Best yet, the funniest partner I worked with. Every job was a joy.
