Ronald Roelke Obituary

September 27, 1933 - October 24, 2015 Ron, a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away suddenly to the despair of all who loved him. He was a loving, supportive husband to Mary Anne for 59 years. His children, Mark (Wendy Abkin), Toni and Lisa (Michael Salvaggio) adored him. He loved his grandchildren, Jason (Bri), Sara, Andrea, Nick, Seth and Samantha, and they loved their Papa. He was thrilled to be a great-grandfather to Hailey and treasured his best friend "Buddy." Ron was a loving brother to Joan, Arline, Susie, Gregg and Lee. He was a generous, caring, giving, funny, unique man and a supportive friend to many. Ron and Mary Anne traveled the world and after vacationing in Italy, Ron's favorite, he became a specialist in Italian cooking to the delight of his family and friends who felt honored to be invited to his dinners. His children will forever miss the special dinners they chose on their birthdays. Ron had a successful 49 year mortgage banking career as owner of Mylor Financial and Mirage Escrow. He was a generous and caring employer. Through the years Ron and Mary Anne supported Operation Bootstrap, Fair Housing Council, Women's Care Cottage and MEND because they cared deeply for those who were trying to raise themselves up by their bootstraps and felt privileged to be able to do so. A celebration of the life of this dear man will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm in Santa Monica. Please call 818-216-1869 to RSVP and get the location. Donations in honor of Ron can be made to Planned Parenthood, 400 W. 30th Street, Los Angeles, 90007.

Uncle Ron was one of the finest men I've ever known. Kind, compassionate, funny, caring. I have decades of fond memories about him and our family's times together. He was an excellent chef and we all enjoyed many of his meals together. Some of the fondest memories of my life. Love and miss you, Uncle Ron.

I feel privileged to have known Ron. He was a great man that I worked for at Mylor Financial. He was a very kind, caring, and generous person. I hope that the Roelke family finds comfort in their time of loss, by the many memories they shared with Ron. Thinking of all of you...

I've known Ron and his family for over 50 years. He recently started a new venture down the hall from me here in Agoura Hills. Ron was always the smartest guy the room and at 82 his mind was sharper than people half his age. I'm going to miss going to lunch, chatting with him and trying to tap into his vast business acumen.

I will miss my dear friend a great deal. Ron was sometimes rough on the outside but could not disguise the gentle and gracious spirit within. I count it a great privilege and blessing to have known him.

I am a fortunate person who had the opportunity to know Ron and to have worked for him. I hadn't been in contact with him for over twenty years but am so grateful that I was able to connect with him by phone a few months ago. In our conversation I was able to tell him how important he was in my life. I shall be forever grateful to this kind and amazing man. You will be missed.

As happens with all of us, as years pass people drift in and out of our lives and we're happy they were there and miss them when they're gone. Uncle Ron was in a whole other category...one of the rocks in the foundation of my life. Such an exceptional kindness, character, integrity, generosity and warmth all wrapped up in a person who was funny as hell. So very grateful for all of the great times we all shared and I know I'll miss you for the rest of my life, Uncle Ron...love you!

I have literally decades of fond memories and stories of my Uncle Ron and our family times together. Usually all of us laughing as he told stories. Such a kind, compassionate, and giving soul. Love you Uncle Ron and will miss you deeply.
