February 18, 1942 - April 25, 2023
Ronald Stephen Siegel, M.D., 81. Ron died Tuesday, April 25 at his home in Los Angeles. Born February 18, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. Son of Herman Siegel, M.D., and Evelyne Ross Siegel. Husband of Naomi Jacobs Siegel. Brother of Susan Siegel Gelles (Jim Gelles). Father of Eric Siegel (Anna Belknap). Grandfather of Olive Louise Siegel and George Belknap Siegel.
Ron graduated Occidental College with honors in 1963, and USC Medical School in1967. He did his advanced training in Gastroenterology at Mount Zion Hospital, San Francisco and USC Medical Center. He was a Captain, United States Air Force, 1969-1971. He spent his entire professional career in private practice as a gastroenterologist in Santa Monica, California, where he was devoted to his patients and his love of Medicine. He joined the faculty of UCLA in 2001, and retired in 2012. He was a long time volunteer at the Venice Family Clinic.
Ron's greatest love was his dear wife Naomi, to whom he was married in 1965. He enjoyed trips to see the elephant seals in Cambria, guacamole, mint chip ice cream, fine wine, great cigars, taking photographs, the LA Philharmonic, the Theater, Art, laughter with his many dear friends, and the joy brought to him by his children and grandchildren.

Naomi and Family, Ron was a wonderful man who was highly respected and loved by his Medical School Classmates. His life will be honored each time we meet. (next meeting will be on May 21, 2023)
He was a man who lived a full life of dedication to the highest principles of our profession.
