Rose Dortort Obituary

DORTORT, Rose To my devoted wife of 67 years: they don't come any better than that! Your loving husband, David. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1916, a graduate of City College of New York and certified CPA, and the resident of Los Angeles since 1942, Rose left this life peacefully at home early Sunday morning, September 30, following a gradual decline. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Wendy and Matthew Czarnecki of Petaluma, CA and Fred Dortort and Gail Fitzmaurice of Berkeley, CA; step-granddaughter Tracy Leisek, brother-in-law and spouse Elliot and Rusty Katz, sister-in-law Mary Seldin, numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces, and many cherished friends. Rose was a founding member of the University Women of the University of Judaism. She will be deeply missed by all. Services for Rose will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the TaNaCH Chapel, Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries - Hollywood Hills, (800) 600-0076.

Dave I was sorry to hear about Rose. My mom just told me today that Rose passed. It has been a long time since I had seen you both. I believe Erika Rosenbergs wedding. My memories of the pool parties, as a child at your house in Bel Aire are still strong. My condolences to you and Wendy and Freddy.
