Rose Gilbert

Rose Gilbert, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, resident of Pacific Palisades, celebrated English teacher at Palisades High School for 50+ years, generous benefactor and ardent UCLA sports fan died December 16, 2013, at the age of 95 in Santa Monica. Over the years Rose, Mama G., taught 1000's of students (her "bubbies") and has received countless awards and commendations for her excellence in teaching and her generosity. To her six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and countless others, she was known simply as "Nana". Her family mourns her loss and will hold a private ceremony. A memorial service will be held in her honor in January at Palisades High School. Details are pending. Donations may be made to the Rose Gilbert Scholarship, UCLA Honors Program. She will be greatly missed.
