Royd was a kind. sincere, humble and helpful person. He was my mentor at Kaiser Permanente-Panorama City in the filed of neurovascular imaging. He taught me everything I knew about interventional radiology. He gave me the full support to establish a very successful interventional radiology laboratory at the inception of angioplasty and up-to-date technological developments in the field of Radiology Imaging in the early 1980's. He was an excellent neuroradiologist as a clinician and diagnostician. His bedside manner is second to none. I certainly miss him and he will always be in my heart. Albert Hermogeno

I was shocked to learn that Royd had passed. I was sitting in the hospital waiting room today (12/4/19) while waiting for my sister to have her radiology procedure completed. Somehow, I suddenly thought of Royd so I went to the Internet and learned of his passing. I'm a retired radiology administrator. Before I became an administrator, I worked with Royd at Kaiser Permanente-Panorama City. I was Royd's primary clinical support for all interventional radiology procedures that he had performed in the 80's. I worked with him side by side assisting him. He gave me the opportunity to setup the 1st angioplasty laboratory at KP-Panorama City. Royd was an excellent neuro-radiologist. He was my mentor and inspiration to loving radiology. He taught me everything I know about neuro radiology. He took every available opportunity to help me become an effective and knowledgeable Radiology Technologist. Unfortunately, we parted when I continued to go up the career ladder and I was too busy to backtrack so I lost track of time. Royd, you will always be in my heart. I will always remember you in my prayers. You are one of a kind. Love you! ! ! !

Sorry to hear belatedly of Royd's passing. I remember a summer retreat to the family cabin in northern Minnesota and the pleasant evenings spent with Royd and Shirley.
