Ruth Talmage Obituary

July 15, 1930 - February 11, 2022 Ruth Dunlevy was born in Chicago Illinois to George and Adeline Dunlevy. Her father was a doctor and her mother a school teacher. The family relocated to Beverly Hills, CA when Ruth was 5 years old. There she attended Beverly Hills High School where she met her future husband Frederick Edwin Talmage Jr. After attending USC, Fred and Ruth were married and started their life in Pacific Palisades, CA. Ruth was a beloved mother to Rick, Diane and Tammy Talmage. She also was a talented lyricist who wrote songs for Motown artists including the Jackson 5. Ruth was deeply religious and taught Sunday School for many years at St. Mathews Parish.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Fred Talmage son Rick Talmage and daughter Diane Van Iden. She is survived by her daughter Tammy Almquist, son-in-law Scott Almquist and grandchildren Tyler Van Iden, Alexandra Van Iden, Will Van Iden, Ashley Almquist, Haley Almquist and Lindsey Almquist.
Ruth was happiest when surrounded by her family and traveling with her grandchildren.
Ruth passed peacefully with her family by her side. Her life will be celebrated at a private family service and burial at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. "And He will raise you up on eagles wings. Bear you on the breath of dawn. Make you to shine like the sun. And hold you in the palm of His hand."

Carol (and Jo) Feiler

August 26, 2024

Our most sincere condolences are sent to Tammy and the rest of Ruth's family....as Ruth sent Carol a Divine Message on July 16th of 2024! We shall always remember Ruth as a sweet, humble, and highly intelligent being, an "Earthly Angel," who spread Love wherever her path lead....
We grew up across the Street, on Bollinger Drive in the Pacific Palisades. We kind of have a feeling that our dearest and most precious mother Leatrice + father Fred, are in Heaven and having fun with Ruth and all the rest of the family! May every one of them have Blessed Happiness for Infinity - we shall all look forward to seeing you one fine day!! LOVE, Carol & Jo Feiler

Tammy, I am sending belated condolences as I just learned that you lost your wonderful mother last year. And I was so sad to learn that your sister, brother and father had also passed away. Your family was so important to my parents and I hold you all in my heart. I would love to reconnect and see pictures of your beautiful family. Sending heartfelt wishes.
