Shauna Marie Scanlon

1953 - 2024

September 19, 1953 - June 30, 2024 Shauna Marie Scanlon peacefully embraced her Lord and Savior in her home surrounded by family and her beloved dogs. She was preceded in passing by her loving parents, Ernie and Gloria Scanlon. Her spirit lives on through her siblings: Mary Pat, Laurie (Norm), Matt (Mariling) and Michael (Teresa); her nieces and nephews: Clay (Megan), Gavin, Sean, Sage and Sofia; her great nephews Leo and Jesse, and a cherished circle of friends.
Shauna graduated from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy High School (class of '71) and the University of Arizona. She then obtained her Masters of Teaching degree. She spent many years teaching pre-k through second grade spending 35 years with Hoover Elementary and her last few years with Latins Highland. She was a creative and enthusiastic teacher devoted to her students-the classroom was her happy place.
Her zest for life revolved around fun. Whether she was with family, friends, or teaching her students, she was about JOY! And then there was her music-her constant friend. While singing, dancing, or playing her guitar, Shauna's happiness was shared with all as was her constant smile. One could count on her infectious 'joie de vivre'.
Always thinking of others, Shauna was kind, loving and a gentle soul. She was always available for a hug, a wise word, or a laugh. A constant source of light and love.
Shauna's life was enriched by her deep commitment to her faith in Jesus Christ. After completing her mission in Brussels, Shauna continued her devotion as a member of the La Crescenta, Burbank and South Pasadena wards.
We were privileged to have Shauna in our lives. We will honor her life and spirit with a memorial service on September 28th at 11AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, La Crescenta, CA.
